When Double Dragon hit the arcades in 1987, it was unlike any other fighting game.
Sure the genre had previously existed, but none had the scope, features and quality of Double Dragon.  Double Dragon allows simultaneous cooperative gameplay in multiple, lengthy and unique side-scrolling levels.

The controls consist of two sets of joysticks, with three action buttons each: Jump, Kick and Punch. The buttons can be stringed together to create over-the-top combo attacks that look like a mix of karate and pro-wrestling.
