High desert campsite about 20 minutes outside of Deming New Mexico, 45 minutes from Silver City or Las Cruces & adjacent to Rockhound State Park.

Believe it or not, you can even go wine tasting in less than an hour's drive (Gruet, a well known, fantastic sparkling wine is made very close by!) In town you can get great Mexican food & sundries, then head out to your spot in the middle of nowhere. Complete serenity.

You will hear coyotes howling at night...this is VERY RUSTIC and you should be a seasoned camper to spend some time out there and pack everything you'll need. There's an excellent hot springs resort about 30-40 minutes away and its wonderful to relax & unwind in your choice of many hot springs.

There are many ancient volcanic outcropings & mountains, the thunderstorms that play in the distance are magnificent & whatever you find at Rockhound State Park is yours to keep...silver, geodes, crystals??

The famous Gila Cliff Dwellings are an 1 1/2 hour drive as are many state parks & sites.

If you are a hard-core camper or have an RV, this spot is as rustic, serene, scenic & incredibly beautiful as it gets.
